Thank you for this I can hardly wait to sit and go through all the pieces, just the questions you posed at the beginning would have been enough for generating thought and meaningful self reflection. But you went on to offer a wonderful and interesting well written piece with beautiful scripture. All things work together not just for our good, but God’s purposes, for those who are called. Your article made me think about that deeply as I am sitting here in my cubicle and wanting to be elsewhere. We are called!!! How amazing is that?! It changes one’s perspective, to stop being so “I” focused but to think, like what I am doing in this moment right now, in this place I really don’t want to be in is part of God’s purpose for my life. What I say and do today is bigger than me. So I will rejoice, I will be glad because right here, right now, being in this place is working out a plan larger than this moment. To open our minds to the possibilities, little ole me and little ole you can have a huge impact just like that little town of Lancaster.

Leena, thank you for your thoughtful comment. I think we've all been there in that place where we didn't want to be and we wondered how any of it could be part of God's plan for us. But the best part is that even when we don't know God's plan, even when we don't align ourselves perfectly to God's plan, He uses our situation to teach us and guide us and move us towards His will for our lives. As long as we strive to follow Him and align with His will I don't believe that any days are wasted. He will use us where we are to get us to where He wants us to be.

Sometimes it’s not and I made use of that Christian armor! This morning I woke up with joy and thanksgiving and later battled for peace as I made my way to the door. I’am thankful for this community where we can bless, strengthen, and encourage each other. To God be all the glory!!! Thank you for your note so glad you were encouraged, you got this!!!! Conquer the day ❤️

Esther was asked as she prayed and anticipated one action that defined her whole being, who knows but that you were chosen for such a time as this?

There was a pastor asked to speak at a women's meeting, but all the Lord laid on that preacher's heart was to speak on the place of. a man before God, his place as a husband to a woman. While not directly pertaining to the women a man wirking on the pipe orfan heard that message and took it to heart. He ministered at his regular job and encouraged a young man to Christ and service, that young man I believe was Dwight L. Moody.

Sometimes many things may be said to define our lives, but God may have that one special unusual time He will use us unknowingly for great work we may never know about. But as you challenged us, may we be ready.

That particular passage from James is one I remember every time I'm about to tell someone I will definitely "be there" tomorrow or next week or whenever. I've taught myself to say that I plan to be there at the scheduled time and leave it at that. Many things can and might happen according to the Lord's will, I have to see that I fit into His plan.

On a separate note, I had a broadcast journalism class in college and one of my good professors was from Lancaster, PA. This is more than 45 years ago, but I've never forgotten how he emphasized the pronunciation of his hometown. He made the indelible point that it's "Lank'-as-ter", not "Lan'-cas-ter." Obviously, I've never forgotten that, so he did his job well on that point!

Ha. The pronunciation didn't come up in my research. Lol. That's good to know! Don't know if this Texas boy will ever say it right, though.

I've definitely been through Johnson County a few times.

I'm further south in...um...you know...Travis County. But we're far east! Heck, we're practically in Bastrop County. I can get Elgin sausage anytime I want.
