Thank you, Jason, excellent writing. You are so right that God simply seeks our willingness to move and take action. Fear of failure shuts us down so very often, it's one of the enemy's most effective tools. But as I am trusting God, He promises to guide my steps, small as they may be, toward where He ultimately desires me to be. And since Jesus is a gentleman, he will wait till I begin to move to then guide my direction.
Now our government can't build a doll house on time and under budget... Biden’s $7.5 billion investment in EV charging has only produced 7 stations in two years.
I've been fascinated with Alaska since childhood, when plans for (and fights over) the pipeline seemed to dominate the news (as filtered through debate around our dinner table). As such, when I wrote my first novel, "Covered With Snow," (bit.ly/CWS-p) I set much of it against the backdrop of the Alaska pipeline's inception (with the discovery of oil at Prudhoe Bay, in February, 1968) through early phases of planning in 1969/70--surveying a viable route, sourcing steel pipe, and debating alternatives, like sending fleets of supertankers through the Northwest Passage (really) or building all the way through Canada to the lower 48. Any history buffs who want to absorb that lore can be assured that, with one tiny exception, I hewed with extreme fidelity to the historical facts in weaving that yarn with fictional characters.
I'm not sure if you've mentioned your novel before or not. It's entirely possible you have and I overlooked it. If so, I apologize. However, I checked it out on Amazon and it sounds fascinating! I was particularly intrigued by a couple of the comments, especially one that wrote:
"CS Lewis said, 'The world does not need more Christian literature. What it needs is more Christians writing good literature.' Covered with Snow is just that."
I agree with Lewis. I don't find a lot of time to read fiction these days but I'm adding you to my reading list!
