I was in third grade and my family had just the previous week moved from Tennessee to the Dallas suburb of Irving. My dad tells me that on the following Sunday after this sad day, we as a family were actually driving right past the Dallas County Jail at almost the exact time Jack Ruby murdered Oswald. But as one other reader mentioned, that whole weekend was nothing on TV but all of this. I just remember how weird it all felt. Now, we can all hope that President Trump will follow through on his promise to release ALL the classified documents about this and maybe, just maybe, we can get to the truth of how all this came down. Personally, I believe Oswald was simply a stooge for other nefarious forces in our government.
I tend to agree with you about Oswald. The question is, will Trump have enough power over the spooks to actually reform anything in those agencies and get documents declassified.
Of course, that is the question as always. But the good news to me is that since his 2016 term, he has obviously learned much about how things actually work in The Swamp.
Yes, like you, Jeff, I was in elementary school and recall the principal coming to the classroom door to tell our teacher that the President had been shot. When school was released, I walked home only to find my Dad home from work early and the television on with both parents watching. Through a child's eyes, it was surreal. Through the years, I have realized that JFK wanted to dismantle many things in Government, and it is evident that what we now call the Deep State already had existed for decades.
Yes, you are absolutely correct that this garbage has existed for decades, and you're also right that Kennedy was going to start bringing it down, and they simply could not allow that to begin. So, they did what they know how to do: eliminate the identified problem with nary a blink of the eye. On a spiritual plane, Satan has been in control of this Deep State for all this time, and they are his pawns because they are spiritually blind. I pray for their souls.
I was in first grade. The whole weekend is forever etched in my memory. It does feel that as a country we lost something that day. Certainly we felt that way with the Lincoln assassination 100 years before.
The two things that jump out..Don't put all hope into 1 person or concept. And his death was a pivotal moment. I was baptized 11 days before he was killed, but I've always been interested in his Assassination since fourth grade. My mom said when he was killed it was like the American people lost all hope. And that's what it was supposed to do. But God is proving right now that he can turn all bad to good. The Kennedy family being back in the White House with Trump is just as important as Trump himself and I'm excited to see this union of Democrat and Republican because I believe the two party system is outdated. This was an ugly moment in our history that our amazing God is now using to take down the evil that were responsible for this ugliness. God's timing is always the best timing. I'm glad the Kennedy deaths were not for nothing.
I applaud this sensitive treatment of a difficult and emotional topic. All of us bring a web of convictions —which act as a screen that filters what we really perceive in our efforts to interpret the raw facts of the event. Government officials feed conspiracy thinking by their efforts to cover up or destroy evidence. Is washing the car in this case so different than washing the roof in the Butler attack on Trump? Similarly the disposal of a body in haste without a transparent autopsy investigation. Ah, the memories of this event stand so strong today, heightened by the grief of my Jesuit 5th grade teacher Anthony Guidotti. I loved him!

Clint Hill is the agent climbing on the back of President Kennedy’s vehicle. He is 92 and posted this today on X.
Thanks, Jason, well done, especially in light of all the recent hysteria. I really, really like how you organize and rollout these posts!!!
