Very interesting story, Jason!

When I look back on my life, there were many times when coincidences led me to, accidentally, do the right thing. When I wrote about them and my belief that God engineered those years ago, a deacon at my church told me those were Godincidences. He recently corrected me and said he called them God shots but it really doesn’t matter what he called them, what matters is that God was behind them. I believe that is exactly what happened with this German pilot. God set the stage and Armin Faber entered stage left!

The Lord truly works in mysterious ways!

Have a great and blessed day!

Your statement "...sometimes the unexpected is the opportunity" is so true. Yet I am so quick too redefine the evident/situation as something I can handle, that i completely miss the opportunity. Thanks.

Another superb job Mr. Clark! I had never heard this remarkable story before, and I absolutely agree that Divine Providence must have been the order of the day. Keep up the wonderful work!

Thanks Jason, very interesting post, I think you summarized the issue well "True spiritual wisdom isn't found in having all the answers but in maintaining a heart that stays alert to God's movement in our everyday lives"

Very interesting, a story of which I was not aware. It always amuses me when the number 42 comes up as in 1942 in this case. If you know The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams then it will make sense as 42 is the ultimate answer to the ultimate question.

June 1942 was a pivotal year in WW2. I have written about a number of battles on my WordPress site before I came to substack in 2023.

Same! Ever since I read the Hitchhiker's Guide in high school.

Oh good! This might interest you.

I see Armin Faber contains the anagram 'airman', so perhaps it was inevitable he would be a pilot! 'NB airframe' is a full anagram and it seems Armin Faber was instrumental in the FW 190 development.

As to 42 it does come up in scripture quite a bit. There is more to it than meets the eye.
