The unearthed grave of 269 children is horrific enough, though it would be miniscule in comparison to the proverbial grave our nation is filling every year. God have mercy!
That said, I’m afraid to completely outlaw this awful practice is as challenging a task as it was for the Founders to outlaw slavery. I think Trump’s reasoning is sound - to bring it back into the hands of the states. The contrast between the states choosing life, and those still sacrificing to Molech will eventually be so obvious that the practice would become unthinkable.
The horrible moral evil of slavery is a fitting comparison to the atrocity of abortion, both representing deep societal sins that require a transformation of hearts and laws. Like the Founders' struggle with slavery, our challenge today is to confront this evil with courage and conviction, praying that through efforts at the state level and beyond, we can foster a culture where every life is cherished and protected. May God indeed have mercy on us and guide us toward justice and compassion.
The unconstitutional DC-ordered massacre of children caused by Roe v Wade has made a permanent stain on our history. Nevertheless, the power that Satan holds over child murderers and traffickers cannot be eliminated. It appears that the majority of women (and men who would like to be women) agree that it is more important to have freedom from the "burden" of raising children. Natural affections have been replaced by nihilism and perversion in the West. We have seen how fanatical those who demand the death of babies have become and, sadly, many women now see their ability to have sex with no responsibility trumps the value of life.
The tragic legacy of Roe v. Wade indeed marks a dark chapter in our history, and it is heartbreaking to witness how far some have strayed from God's design for life and family. The spiritual battle we're facing is intense, and the devaluation of life and natural affections is a clear sign of a society in moral decline. However, we must continue to stand firm in truth, advocating for life and offering hope and redemption through Christ. Let's pray for a revival of hearts and minds, that many may come to see the profound value of every life created in God's image.
So powerful— thank you! I used to be pro-choice and am now pro-life, thanks entirely to God. As I study these themes in the Bible & reflect on contemporary culture, I keep seeing the stunning and enduring parallel among all forms of child sacrifice, whether in the ancient cultures in the Promised Land, the Chimú centuries ago, or abortion today: the faithless belief that it is sometimes necessary to sacrifice children in order to preserve economic stability. Whether it’s done in a misguided attempt to appease false gods believed to be responsible for the weather that controls food production (like Molech, Chemosh, or whomever the Chimú sought in vain), or a sense that the timing or presence of a given child would hamper a mother’s lifestyle or career, or strain a family’s resources (aka a contemporary sacrifice to the false gods of self and/or money), it all comes down to a lack of belief in God and His faithfulness to provide.
Lord, have mercy on our nation. Open blind eyes and soften hardened hearts, that more of us may see through the lies of our culture and repent, turning from the false idols of money, self-reliance and self-worship toward You, our true Provider and our good, good Father. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Sabrina, thank you for sharing your story and insight! It's truly moving to hear how God has transformed your perspective. Your reflection on the parallels between ancient and modern forms of child sacrifice is exactly right. Indeed, it often stems from a lack of trust in God's provision and a turn towards false idols, whether ancient deities or contemporary desires. May God have mercy on us, open our eyes, and soften our hearts to the truth of His love and the value of every life He creates. Thank you for your heartfelt prayer and for joining in this important conversation.
It seems as though sophistication and evil go hand in hand in any society. We need to be on our knees when those who are elected to the highest offices in any country think they are gods.
Thank you for this well written post. I volunteer at a pregnancy care center. It is the front lines of caring for women post abortion and those considering abortion. We pray over these women. We love the mother and the baby. We give out mountains of diapers and baby wipes in the name of Jesus.
I think that's what sets the God of Israel apart from other gods - the protection of the vulnerable. We are called as Christians to follow God's example and protect those who are unable to protect themselves. This is a difficult thing to read about but it is important to understand the darkness that pervades our world - to face it and shine the light of Christ into the void. Thanks for sharing!
You're absolutely right—God's heart for the vulnerable truly sets Him apart, and as Christians, we are called to reflect that same care and protection. It is indeed difficult to confront such darkness, but it's crucial for us to understand it so we can bring the light of Christ into those very spaces. Thank you for your encouragement!
The drumbeat of "overpopulation" has been the rationale behind the justification of abortion for many years now. The whole "Green Agenda" is nothing more than the worship of Gaia (Mother Earth) over the true worship of God. It's the age-old paganism under a new name. There is nothing new under the sun. At the heart of it lies Satan (the deceiver) - the one who comes to kill and destroy that which God has created.
The narrative of "overpopulation" has indeed been used to justify many practices that devalue human life, and you're right to highlight how such ideologies can stray into forms of idolatry that replace the worship of God with a misplaced reverence for creation. As Scripture reminds us, there is truly nothing new under the sun; these deceptions are ancient and rooted in spiritual battles. Let's continue to discern truth from lies and uphold the sanctity of life as God intended.
And after this, those awful, brutal Conquistadores of legend sailed to Peru in service to the Catholic King Charles of Spain, Holy Roman Emperor.
I grew up being taught these men were the lowest kind of mercenaries and robbers. But I cannot help but wonder how common mass sacrifices of children were after Christianity came to Peru.
We all know the answer. "By their fruits you shall know them."
Jason, you should sign up and be a presenter at Chautauqua. While I hate driving and I'm afraid of big cities, I'd drive up from Tennessee to hear you lecture.
My thoughts on child sacrifice include the teachings of Jung. We all have a dark side and it is important to recognize and tame it. Apparently, mass psychosis impairs all societies that reach a disparity between population and available food. In our technological society, this insanity spreads fast.
I believe in a unity of all things and when we murder children or abort them without medical necessity, we are killing a part of ourselves.
Charles, I must confess ignorance concerning Chautauqua. I don't think I've heard of it. I appreciate your vote of confidence, though!
I believe there are deep spiritual implications of actions like child sacrifice and abortion. You’re right; these actions not only harm the innocent but also affect us deeply on a spiritual level. We must continue to seek God's wisdom in addressing these challenges and strive to uphold the sanctity of life.

I would only disagree on the "ordered" part. "Encouraged", "condoned", "legitimized", yes.
But these unfortunately made a very bad decision freely.
Remember, some would have chosen differently today, and there is Grace and Mercy for them.
What a difference one word makes. Thanks for pointing out my error.
Proof that man's heart is truly reprobate... and in need of a Savior.

Thank you for what you are doing. You are quite literally changing lives. So many people have never seen or experienced true love. God bless!

Brutal reality of human history and fascinating about the connection to weather patterns. Thanks for sharing.

I'm surprised Planned Parenthood does not celebrate today as a holiday.
