What a great treasure... now spoiled. NatGeo sadly jumped-the-shark (as it were) several decades ago, embracing a woke anti-Christian worldview that celebrates pagan cultures rather than viewing them through the skeptical lens of Western Civilization. They were influenced by lots folks, but one of those whom I think of as central to that was Boston's late Mt. McKinley-photographing, Science-Museum founding Bradford Washburn who seems to have embraced an entirely materialistic worldview.

I'm not too crazy about the fact that the entire post shows as a "Paid" post in the Substack app. I don't know how that might affect views.
