Wow, I so appreciate this one as I am one of those who was somewhat familiar with the story in general but knew nothing of the actual unfolding narrative. Really fun and inspiring read.
There were two different slave trade enterprizes: western, that supplied black slaves to the Americas; and eastern, that supplied the Ottoman Empire. Livingstone was fairly successful in restricting the eastern version.
