Thank you for coralation from history. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. It is very present with what is going on in LA. We need our eyes opened to see. To many bury thier head in the swamp. Thanks for helping us to keep looking at Jesus as King.
Thank you, Kevin. If there's one thing I've learned it's that history tends to repeat itself. Learning from the past can absolutely give us insight into the present. Thanks for reading and commenting!
Domestic enemies want us to be divided over this too. It's one of the reasons it's happening. But I think they've miscalculated. Instead of dividing us more I think it is opening people's eyes to the truth and bringing us closer together.
Welcome back from break, Jason. I hope you return to daily writing refreshed and re-energized. I appreciate the parallel to contemporary events, which often seem overwhelming when we're in the thick of them!
I’ve read the work of Raymond Ibrahim’s work , “ Defenders of the West.” He’s a Coptic Christian. He posited that the Janissaries were almost transgender in nature because of the mutilation they endured. They were completely cut off from any family relations and any hope of normalcy. Some escaped and became the fiercest warriors against the Ottoman Empire , Vlad the Impaler. It was a difficult read. The brutality of these devout Christian men was hard to fathom. Without them Europe might have succumbed to Islam. Our modern minds cannot comprehend how God used the fearsome men to preserve the church. Good lesson.Thank you.
Yes! You're speaking truth, sir! Especially with that connection to modern America. That's why I love history. There's always something to learn from it. People who say history isn't relevant to today aren't looking close enough.

Thank you, Charles! My eyesight is still pretty fuzzy so it'll be light duty for awhile, but I'm itching to dive back in.
