This is a very timely reminder for me Jason. I have just retired and am piecing together how my life may look in the future. How foolish of me! Living in the moment with the indwelling Christ leading. Sounds good! Thank you Jason.
What a beautiful reminder! Worrying and reliving steal my joy all too often. In fact, I started to skim your devotional while still lying in bed…my mind already racing through all that needs to be accomplished today. When I realized what I was doing, I stopped, went back to the top, and truly immersed myself in the text. I can already feel that something has shifted within me. Thank you for your ministry!
Oh! Your post caught my eye because I live in Ohio, and we have a frozen yogurt chain called Menchie’s. I had no idea where the name came from!
Excellent article! Ice cream is my very most favorite food which I consume most every day. It is actually the time of day I look forward to and very interesting that I truly like to savor and enjoy my ice cream while eating it. I do not like to be on the computer, watching TV , talking, or anything that will detract from my tasting the ice cream, so I guess I am truly in the moment while eating it! Eating ice cream is one of my "holy moments" at the end of the day. You have given me a LOT to ponder now while eating ice cream and beyond. (My freezer is probably half full with various ice cream flavors) Interesting how you intertwine history in your writing. I was thinking I need to learn more about history the way the world is going these days.
This was timely. I once knew the peace of this, but lost it long ago with endless anxious thinking.
Also: Joe Biden approves of the celebration of this invention, regardless of who the true inventor is. 🤣🤷♂️

I am reminded of Norman Vincent Peale's advice on meditation: Go into a quiet place. Think as little as posssible.
The serenity that comes from simply appreciating God's creation and our lives is the best thing.

I'm so glad you got something out of it! We have Menchie's here in Texas too. My kids love it.

I love ice cream too. If you want to learn about history you've come to the right place! Come back every day for another lesson.
Ok! I will try to check back frequently! It is good to learn some history with a Christian perspective!
And thanks for following me! I appreciate it.
A bad day can be made better with ice cream!!!! Love chocolate!
Amen! And mint chocolate chip.
Delightful write-up! Thank you, Jason!
Makes one wonder how this current wave of "immigration" will affect the U.S. in the years to come...
