Thank you, Benjamin! I have definitely been considering it. Currently, I am committed to providing this newsletter free to everyone, but it takes considerable time to produce. If I get enough support and can find the time I intend to pursue the idea. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment!
Another fascinating post! There is a great air museum very near the Oakland Airport site where Earhart took off. It on the appropriately named Earhart Drive!
I was saved last year. All my life before that, I was shy and anxious and afraid of people. One day this past winter I was leaving my house, listening to Christian music on the radio. Partway down my road, the radio shut off. The whole entire console just went dark. Nothing worked. A minute later, I turned onto the next road and saw a car on the side of the road. Then, over the hill, a woman walking in the cold.
I stopped. To this day I don’t know why, because it was out of character for me. And strangest of all, I was not anxious or worried or nervous—I had a blanket of peace over me. I picked up this woman whose car broke down and I brought her home. And as soon as I turned around to carry on my way, the console on my car lit up and the radio turned back on.
Afterward, it still seemed surreal. But it was like God told me through the radio silence, Quiet. Listen to Me. And I know He was there with me, because I could feel a tangible presence in that peace. And I have often been grateful that He used me to help someone else—something I’d always been too afraid to do myself.
Thanks for your post! A great historical study, and I loved your devotional. A good message to ponder…
Carrie, thank you for listening to the Holy Spirit. For whatever reason, He keeps sending people to this newsletter. I started it because of His promoting, not knowing whether or not I'd ever find another person who shared my interests.
The first few months were slow going, but I stuck with it. I felt like I was learning more than I was teaching! But a few months ago everything started changing. On April 1, I had 50 subscribers. Today, I have 508! That has nothing to do with me and everything to do with God.
I encourage you to follow His lead. I'll pray that God reveals your path. Thank you for checking out this newsletter!
Jason, I am so glad I found you! I was reading Mind of a Writer, who wrote about someone receiving 100 reviews and complaining, and I started to read the comments. I think it was divine because the Lord kept nudging me to keep scrolling and reading. Again, the Lord prompted me to click on your name. I was so excited that you linked history together with inspiration from and about God. I have been a faith believer for many years myself and a lover of history. Lately, it has been my goal to stop and listen for the Holy Spirit to speak to me. So thank you for the lovely reminder and all the wonderful advice. You are also a wonderful writer! I have been on the fence about beginning to write on Substack. I am praying for guidance on that! God bless!
Hi, I think your stuff would do well as a podcast!

Keeping up the pace of quality daily posts is really impressive. Well done!

I'd love to check that out sometime.

Mallory, thank you for listening to the Holy Spirit. I think you'll be surprised how God will use you if you let Him.
I love local history. I love your Substack, too. HIS-story.

That's pretty awesome!
