My wife and I have decided to make your lesson our nightly supper time companion. I took her to the range today and had her fire a 9mm for the first time. We usually shoot .22 . She did great at 30 feet. Next time I’ll have her shoot my 357 revolver. Thanks for the history and the devotion. God Blessed

“God is the master of redemption.

Even when we take a wrong turn, He can lead us back. Sometimes, what seems like a detour is actually the path He uses to prepare us for what lies ahead.”

Love this reminder. Jonah is a perfect example of God’s redemption, not only to Jonah but to Nineveh. I’m also reminded of Peter. I am brought to tears when I read Jesus’ question to Peter, “Do you agape Me?” Peter learned his lesson after thinking so highly of himself but failing and answered, “Lord, I phileo You.” Again Jesus asked, “Do you agape Me?” Again, humbled Peter answered honestly, “Lord, I phileo You.” And for the 3rd time (everything for Peter comes in 3’s it seems), Jesus asks Peter, “Do you love Me?” But Jesus used “phileo.” And Peter, rooted in his authentic heart knowledge of who he was and who Christ is, answered with, “Lord, I phileo you.” Oh isn’t it marvelous when we come to the end of ourselves, whether we take the easy way or the hard way, and find a gracious, forgiving Savior?
