Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:11b-17 NIV

Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22 NIV

I totally agree! The method you shared to resist manipulation is great for situations we can’t avoid, like work or family conversations.

But social media and news? Those can be skipped! I stopped watching both after the Lord told me to guard my heart. Not out of religious duty, but through His strength. I know my righteousness comes from Jesus, but I’ve found so much more peace since disconnecting from the daily noise.

Anyway, as always, your newsletter is full of great insight. God bless!

Well done! Glad to see this clear, concise, accurate review of a famous illustration of incipient political and spiritual dangers.

Even in the years leading up to the Scamdemic in 2020, I had pared down my consumption of mainstream media. And since that time there are certain media outlets I absolutely do not and will not even pretend to pay attention to. And I used to be quite active on Facebook, but no longer. Personally, I've found that the less I'm involved on so-called social media (much of it I find to be quite anti-social), the more peace I experience in my soul. It's one of the main reasons I turned to Substack, and why I found this daily good experience with your writing, Jason.

Facebook kicked me off, ironically, not because of anything I posted but because their 2 factor authentication failed and someone hacked my linked Instagram and posted something that got the account banned. Never could get an actual person to even respond to an email. But, long story slightly shorter, I don't really miss it. I'm much happier here on Substack.
